We
recently had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Athena the Editor of La
Vida magazine into our salon to review our services. We’d like to take
the opportunity to thank Athina for her time and her review.
La
Vida is a Manchester based magazine created purely for those who enjoy
‘the finer things in life’ and we are very privileged to be featured in
such an exciting on trend magazine.

Getting dolled-up and ready for a night out on the town can be a long and unnecessarily tedious process as most of you ladies know, especially when working a full time job. So, when I was told I could get this whole pampering process of hair, nails and make-up done for me at one of Manchester’s finest hair salons, I jumped for joy. Pierre Alexandre has long been one of Manchester’s most original and wellknown hair salons since the man himself first opened shop in 1965. And, after pioneering the concept of unisex hairdressing, the prestigious eponymous salon, located in the heart of Manchester’s city centre on King Street West, is catering to our very demanding needs. With a birthday night planned, and the birthday girl in tow, we headed for a well deserved and, to be honest, well-needed pampering session before hitting the busy, cosmopolitan Spinningfields for celebratory food and drinks. Popping in after ork wasn’t just a lifesaver and easy option, but a relaxing end to the
day and a perfect start to a glitzy, glamorous night out..

First step. Hair. Holly and Stephanie were our lovely stylists for our afternoon of pampering and gave us the options for our hair look for the evening. I chose a simple blow dry, whilst the birthday girl chose a stylish up-do to complement her extravagant birthday ensemble. I will be honest; I have scoured Manchester for not only a good and long-lasting blow dry, but also somewhere that’s affordable. Typically £30 for what I consider to be a simple task, Pierre Alexandre was a godsend - £15 for a blow dry (£20 if I still had my luscious, long extensions)! The birthday girl’s up-do, as a longer and more complex process, was £30 but it was her birthday after all, and damn it looked good! Both the blow dry and up-do served the biggest test of all - the test of time - lasting the duration of our indulgent afternoon and the nights antics. For those busy businesswomen out there, Stephanie informed us that for future reference, we could wash our hair in the morning at home, and pop into Pierre Alexandre on our lunch break for a touch-up blow dry for only £10 – it really doesn’t get any easier than that.

talented experience and work her magic. Sat in the comfy, reclining chairs with our hair freshly blow and pinned, nails drying and makeup in process, we felt like A-list celebrities getting ready for the red carpet - or maybe we were? Caroline gave us ‘The Effect’. Choosing a celebrity look, Caroline applied my desired ‘Megan Fox’ look and my friend’s ‘Cara Delevingne’ adaptation. Our celebrity-inspired makeover, with the whole works including lashes, was a remarkable £30 and lasting 45 minutes, it was a relaxed, friendly and thoroughly enjoyable experience. Not to mention we looked fabulous by the end of
it - watch out Brian Austin Green, I’m coming for you!
